Hello friends of BrutaliTeas!
Before we get into how our ChariTeas work, we must first tell you the story behind how it came to be.
We hope you will take the time to read our story to get a better understanding of why this cause is so important to us!
The adorable little guy pictured above is Griffin. We were fortunate enough to have Griffin come into our lives back in 2010. He was rescued by my mom as a "Christmas gift", as I have always loved pugs. They're quirky, kind and sweet, and ALWAYS entertaining! Needless to say, he was the very best Christmas gift one could have ever received. He always had a big presence everywhere he went, and he was always a little ray of sunshine that made everyone in his path smile or laugh. Truth be told, I wish there were more people in the world as sweet and kind as he was.
In 2014, Griffin was diagnosed with canine lupus and hypothyroidism. He had to go to countless doctor's visits and take multiple medications to control his health condition. Despite it all, he never let it affect his personality and he continued to live his life happily! In the Winter of 2016, it was discovered that he also developed multi centric lymphoma which is a fast spreading form of cancer. This news was beyond devastating. We did everything we could to help him fight this battle, while also keeping him as comfortable for as long as we could. We did mild chemotherapy, and even made a special herbal tea blend for Griffin to naturally try to help him feel better, strengthen his immune system, and assist in his liver function. Believe it or not, he actually enjoyed it!
Unfortunately, despite all of the efforts, his quality of life decreased very quickly. With that, the hardest decision ever was made on January 30, 2017 to help Griffin cross over to the rainbow bridge. It was the most extreme of heartbreak to make such a decision, but we could no longer allow this awful disease to take over and destroy his quality of life. Griffin will be missed every day, but his spirit and memory will always be kept alive through our "ChariTeas" - Tea for a Cause. Throughout the year, our ChariTeas allows us to donate to various local area animal rescues or to other non-profit organizations that not only help pets, but people as well. As we make donations, we will post them on our social media accounts so you can see who we're helping together!
To add to this we've also started creating custom blends for non-profit organizations, in an effort to help them with fundraising.
We look forward to doing more of this in the future, so please feel free to reach out to us if you are part of a non-profit organization that would like to collaborate for fundraising!

Our Detoxic Avenger tea is a caffeine-free, earthy and nutty blend, with just a touch of tartness. This blend consists of rooibos, hazelnut honeybush, dandelion root, cats claw, milk thistle, astragalus root, and raspberry.
Rooibos and honeybush are widely known for their high antioxidant and mineral content, while herbs such as dandelion root and milk thistle are known to help cleanse the liver.
