Who's Coming Up With
​All Those Tea Blends?

That's me....Courtney! I like to think of myself as the creative "DIErector for BrutaliTeas (see what I did there?). I've been involved in the world of loose leaf tea for over 15 years, with a passion for creating quality, unique, and tasty blends that will bring comfort and enjoyment to one's day! 

When I'm not blending it up for BrutaliTeas, I am also very much into fundraising for charitable causes in my free time (particularly when it comes to animal welfare). I am a self-proclaimed cat lady...so in addition to making all of the teas for BrutaliTeas, I am working on creating another line of teas called PURRsonaliTeas, which is inspired by our favorite feline friends. This line of tea will be used to do additional fundraising for local area animal shelters & rescues! I'm so excited to be able to take all of the things that I love and play a part in turning those things into one really awesome thing I love...and that you all love, too! <3

Who's Coming Up With All Those Puns?

That's this guy! Meet Adam. He's the self-proclaimed "PUNisher" of BrutaliTeas, and responsible for the majority of all those wild and crazy names you all love so much. He's also a one man Amazon fulfillment center, and makes sure your orders are going out in lightning speed!

​Besides his (sometimes unhealthy) love of puns and "dad jokes", he's spent years and countless hours showing his support to the music scene with his band photography that can be found on www.prophecy21.com. 

​Chances are if you're in a band (especially in the tri-state area), you'll probably find yourself on the site! He's also had several photos used in magazines, album covers, music videos, etc.

​In addition to his photography, Adam spent many years promoting several bands for various record labels, and has also helped out multiple bands on tours. Adam's an active supporter of the music scene and a pun extraordinaire!

​Story:


​The concept of Brutaliteas was born one cold, wintery evening back in 2016, in the booth of a local Denny's in the great state of New Jersey. Yes, you read that right...Brutaliteas was officially born at a Denny's!

But before we get into that, there is a backstory that must be told. Many years before Brutaliteas, I (Courtney) was fortunate enough to be introduced to the world of loose leaf tea. I really fell in love with it over the years and developed a passion for it, particularly when it came to creating my own blends.  I enjoyed it so much, that my heart kept telling me over the years it was something I should really pursue. Unfortunately, while the desire was there to create these blends and a brand, I really struggled with finding the perfect niche.

I didn't want something that was like everything else out there. I wanted something different. Something unique. Something that myself and others could really connect with on a different level. There are more than enough tea brands out there, but how many of those have something about them that someone can really relate to on a more personal level?

It wasn't until a longtime dear friend to both of us (SHOUTOUT TO RO @ WAR MACHINE MERCH) asked, "Why don't you make some metal sounding teas?! Some teas with brutal names?!" The thought of  working together and combining two different things that so much to one or both of us, never actually crossed either of our minds

We laughed it off at first and almost wrote off the idea completely. Then one day the idea was revisited, and it all just made sense and had to be done!  It couldn't be a more perfect combination! We told ourselves if we truly loved the idea, then there had to be others out there that would feel the same!

Six months later, we launched www.brutaliteas.com with only 25 blends, and were amazed (and continue to be amazed) at how responsive people were to the product! It is truly amazing to see others enjoying and connecting with BrutaliTeas. It means more than anyone will ever know, and keeps us motivated to continue. BrutaliTeasnow has over 100 blends, and since starting we have incorporated a love of horror movies, as another form of inspiration for our tea blends!

As a final note, music as a whole has always been a huge part of our both our lives, particularly metal & rock. We're both long time fans and have a lot of admiration for all of the musicians out there. There is truly something to be said for being able to create music that inspires others and invokes a unique meaning to each listener.  Our brand certainly wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for all of these inspirations throughout the years Because of them, we were able to create something meaningful that we love and that many of you love as well!
