While we were sad we were unable to vend this time around, we did make it out to check out the NJ Horror Convention and Film Festival! We snagged a few cool things for ourselves AND got to meet a couple of awesome guests who we were able to pass some BrutaliTeas along to! Who better to share some Screamsicle with |
Today makes two months that our sweet boy Griffin left us due to his battle to lymphoma. Immediately after his passing we started our Tea for a Cause to help other pet owner's in need of financial help with treatments for their doggies. We are happy to say that in memory of Griffin, we were able to make our very first donations today! We are off to a good start, and hope to continue help others each month. We thank each and every one of you that have purchased our Detoxic Avenger blend so far, and for those of you that left donations at our table at the Monster Mania Convention! We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts! This month we donated to two families on Petchance.org, and we made a donation to the National Canine Cancer Foundation! You can see more about where we contributed by clicking on the photos below! Donations Made: |
After months of preparing for our very first multi-day event, we were finally able to vend at the Monster Mania Convention 36 in Cherry Hill, NJ! It was quite the learning experience, but we had a blast! We brought along 15 of our most popular selling blends, and 10 horror-inspired blends ... 7 of which have not yet been released onto our website! We want to thank everyone that stopped by our table and made our first big event so successful. As a new company, we genuinely appreciate all your kind words and support, and we LOVE the excitement that everyone shows for our product. The excitement and enthusiasm for BrutaliTeas really makes all the countless hours we spend doing this so worthwhile, and keeps us motivated to continue! We also want to thank everyone that purchased our Detoxic Avenger blend, or who donated to our Tea for a Cause. Thanks for taking the time to listen to our story, and share your own stories. Because of your purchases and generosity (and our online purchasers), we've been able to raise about $125 since recently starting this project. We hope to raise more and more each month. All money raised will be donated to help families in need of financial help with cancer treatments for their fur babies! Thanks again everyone...we can't wait to see you at the next event! |
A little late with this post...but we were beyond stoked when Dark Tranquillity spotted a blend inspired by them, and graciously shared it with others on social media as soon as they saw it! We, of course, had to make sure they got to try some of this yummy tea, so we sent it all the way over to Sweden for them to enjoy! This was our very first blend we shipped out of the country! Thanks for the excitement and support guys! PS friends....we are aware there is only one "L" in the logo...we have our reasons! Besides...have you seen the spelling of the rest of our blends? :D |
We are super stoked for our first BrutaliTeas interview, which was for The Rock Daily Post/Rock Your Life, a rock/metal webzine based in Athens, Greece! We'd like to give a special thanks to Savvas, for taking an interest in BrutaliTeas and sharing it with others! We appreciate the support more than you all will ever know! Please take a look below at the translated version of our interview.
In the last years it is very common for a rock/metal band to release alcohol related products, such as beer or wine. To produce a wine though is something unique. How did you come up with this idea and how did you manage to accomplish it?
Adam and I have been big fans of metal and rock for years and have always been involved with music in some form. In addition to that, I have always been a huge fan of loose leaf teas and actually started a small online tea shop in 2011, which I continue to run in addition to BrutaliTeas. The idea for BrutaliTeas came to us in the Winter of 2016 and officially launched in August of 2016. At first the idea was for our own amusement. Adam would come up with puns, and I would try to come up with a tea blend to complement it. As we kept coming up with names and tea blends, we realized we really had something great and unique that we wanted to share with others. From that point on, the two of us spent several months and countless hours building our brand from the ground up and continue to do so presently. We both contribute in our own ways to make BrutaliTeas what it is today. It’s really great to be able to combine things together that you love, and create something that is equally as exciting to others!
Tea is undoubtedly good for health, but how hard is to reach to an audience who is related to alcohol?
Honestly, everyone has been very receptive and excited for the product when they come across it! We even get a lot of people interested that are not normally tea drinkers, or that have never even tried loose leaf teas. I think it’s great to have a product that is suitable for all ages to enjoy. I can say this though...for those that prefer an adult beverage, tea actually blends quite nicely with a lot of different alcohols!
How do you come up with a name for your product and how is this connected to its content?
Coming up with a name that can translate into a flavor is not always easy! When we are coming up with a new tea blend, it usually works one of two ways. We either come up with a blend first and then create a fitting name for it, or we come up with a name first and then create a blend to complement it. There have been many times we’ve heard a song or watched a movie and then asked each other, “how can we turn this into a blend?!”. We’re always being inspired, so there’s a lot of brainstorming involved when coming up with names and blends. We always keep a running list of all ideas, as we are always looking to add new flavors to our menu!
Which is your favourite?
My favorites sometimes change as we add new flavors, but currently my favorite is a tie between our Between the Blueburied and Me and Judas Peach blend. Adam’s favorite blend is Strawbury Your Dead.
What is the feedback that you receive from people and what needs to be done to make this effort profitable?
Since we’ve launched in August, we’ve gotten great feedback and support! Everyone gets super excited for the product and we absolutely love that. The excitement and enthusiasm keeps us motivated, and it makes all the work we put into the business so worthwhile. We want to keep the momentum going, so we do our best to do new releases as often as we can to keep people interested. We have even recently branched out into making blends inspired by horror films, as I’m also a huge horror buff and wanted to create something for all the horror fans out there! We are fans of our inspirations just as much as our customers, and I think that translates into our products and will help BrutaliTeas continue to grow.
I assume you want to ship tea worldwide. Could you please tell me about your future plans?
We would absolutely love to share our tea blends with the world! Since we are still fairly new, we are still determining the best way to go about international shipping of our products. While we do not currently offer international shipping on our website, we do happily accept international order inquiries via email! We will do our very best to accommodate potential international orders. So for those of you in other countries outside of the USA, please feel free to contact us...we would love to hear from you!
